Risale-i Nur conferences in India
The sixth year of the Risale-i Nur conferences in India, traditionally made by the Istanbul Science and Culture Foundation, has been fully programmed for 2017. The programs that will take place at three different universities are as follows:
13-14 February 2017 “International Nursi Studies Conference, Calicut University”
An international conference on Nursi Studies has been scheduled to be conducted at EMS Seminar Complex, University of Calicut, Kerala-India, under joint auspices of Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture and Department of Arabic, University of Calicut. Eminent scholars, academicians, and youth leaders from Europe, Asia, and Africa will participate and present their papers in the three-day International Conference. The program will be inaugurated by Mr. P.K. Abdul Rab, former minister of education, Kerala, in the function chaired by Prof. Dr. K. Muhammed Basheer, Vice Chancelllor of University of Calicut.
The plenary session will be handled by Dr. Ahmet Yıldız, Adviser to the Speaker, Turkish National Assembly and Prof. Dr. Alparslan Açıkgenç, Member of Turkish Academy of Sciences. The program has been designed in 3 channels so as to present 30 papers on politics, religion, and multi-cultural co-existence in Light of Said Nursi’s viewpoint and his magnum of opus Risale-i Nur. The different academic sessions of the Conference will be chaired by Dr. Moideen Kutty.A.B, Dr. A. I. Rahmathullah, Dr.E.K. Ahmad Kutty, Dr.N.A. Muhammed Abdul Khader, Prof. Dr. Alparslan Açıkgenç, Dr. Ahmet Yıldız.
12-15 February 2017 “Lucknow Nadvatul Ulama, Risale-i Nur Course”
A four-day Risale-i Nur training program will be organized at Darul-uloom Nadwatul Ulama in Uttar Pradesh, India, which has tens of thousands of students and is recognized as one of India’s largest medrese. In this training, there will be special meetings to discuss the possibility of adding Resale-i Nur to the syllabus of the medrese. Under the supervision of Ihsan Kasım Salihi and three other Arabic language speaking academicians, thirty students will make private studies on Nursi and Risale-i Nur in this training program.
16-17 February 2017 “Gauhati University Conference on The Role of Positive Action in Building a Better World: The Perspective of The Risale-i Nur”
An international symposium will be held for two days at Gauhati University in Gauhati, Assam, India, the largest state university in Assam province. About 50 papers will be presented in this symposium. The symposium will be attended by researchers, academicians and students from India, Kashmir, Bangladesh, Iraq and Turkey.
