PEACE EDUCATION BASED ON THE PRINCIPLE OF POSITIVE ACTION

As part of the ongoing partnership project between Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky Hrihoriy Skovoroda State Pedagogical University and Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture we implemented a project between April-June 2018. The project idea originated from mutually expressed need to explore levels of peace and the principle of positive action in the frame of a lecture series. Under the circumstances of our current times with continuous struggles around the world there is an increasing feeling of insecurity and fear. The question of how to succeed in achieving peace as an individual, as a society and internationally triggered a series of lectures on this subject.

During the lectures students from three partner universities, Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky Hrihoriy Skovoroda State Pedagogical University, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, and the National University of Ostroh Academy, took part in lectures and discussions. Students also wrote reflection papers on the Staff of Moses from the section of the Supreme Sign on the existence and unity of God and how that relates to peace. The final lesson by Bediuzzaman Said Nursi to his students on the principle of Positive Action was the topic of the final lecture and the second reflection paper.

We believe this project is a successful step towards spreading peace and would like to thank all those who support us for this aim.
