Honourable Guests,

All these meetings aim to show a great scholar raised in this land as well as his legacy, not only to this country and people but to the whole humanity and future generations.

Esteemed attendees,

In spite of all the negative conditions and injustice that he faced, Bediuzzaman had one aim in writing his works that bear reflections of Divine Mercy in each line.

The speaker for the
emnity committees which are an obstacle to the wake of Islam, the British Secretary of State for War and Colonies was reported to say in a newspaper: “So long as the Muslims have the Qur’an, we shall be unable to dominate them. We must either take it from them, or make them lose their love of it.”

Then Bediuzzaman swore saying “I shall prove and demonstrate to the world that the Qur’an is an undying, inextinguishable Sun!”

When he made that promise he did not trust himself but the Qur’an.

After Said Nursi read the reported words of the British Secretary of State for War and Colonies, he stood up with the Qur’an in his hand and he never sat again, never rested or paused. He walked on and on.

Our presence here today
is a live step in that walk. Our brothers and sisters who came from far away voluntarily are walking along the same road as Bediuzzaman Said Nursi in showing the Qur’an as an inextinguishable light.

When he completed this onerous walk Bediuzzaman Said Nursi left for our thinking hearts live and clear lines from the source of the Qur’an and the Sunnah.

He left
us a live text which makes one stand up after a fall and rebuilds a Muslim saying “I have understood through the teaching of the Qur’an and instruction of the Most Noble Messenger (Peace and blessings be upon him)”.

He increased our astonishment with the Qur’an that reads the book of the universe and introduced to us the spiritual personality of our Prophet (Peace and Blessings Upon Him). He showed us the exciting responsibility of living with his Sunnah.

He taught us how to say Subhan Allah with keen breaths, and how to remove the veils of routine and follow all actions with a heartfelt Alhamdulillah. He instructed us on the Divine manifestations during the five daily prayers, the meaning of standing, the awe in the bowing, the submission in prostration and saying Allahu Akbar from the bottom of the heart.

Today we also bear witness that Bediuzzaman fulfilled his promise that he had given a hundred years ago. While he demonstrated to the world that the Qur’an is an inextinguishable Sun, he also displayed without excuses or complaints that the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) is a righteous path that can be followed in every century. He never refrained from preserving public order and always upheld his country, flag, government, nation
and the Muslim Ummah.
