The Closing Program Took Place: "The 5D Movement is Growing"

30.12.2024

The third session of the workshop series "ISTANBUL WORKSHOP: 5D THINKING FOR TRANSFORMATIVE TEACHING," organized in collaboration between the Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture and The Institute of Integrated Knowledge, concluded with a closing session on December 26, 2024. Educators from around the world participated in this event, hosted by the Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture from December 21 to 26.

The 5D model focuses on moving beyond the prevalent secular approaches in science education, aiming to develop a new philosophy and teaching model based on the perspective of Tawhid (the oneness of God). The educators embraced an educational vision that integrates science with faith, intending to connect students with Marifatullah (awareness of God). Participants emphasized that the program offered significant opportunities for both themselves and the international education community.

They expressed confidence that learning the 5D thinking model would positively impact their personal development and benefit their students. At the program's conclusion, cooperation agreements were signed with three participants to implement this educational method in their institutions.

“The 5D Movement is Growing”

Speaking at the closing session, Dr. Ünal Akyüz, Director of the Istanbul Civilization Institute, highlighted the growing influence of the 5D movement. He described the model as more than just a teaching method, calling it a transformative tool. Dr. Akyüz announced the development of a curriculum for students from preschool to high school within the Istanbul Civilization Institute, established under the Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture. Reflecting on Imam Nursi's work 60 years ago, which combined science and philosophy, he stated, "If you listen to science, each of its parts speaks to you about God in its language."

"Viewing Science Through the Light of the Quran"

Prof. Dr. Necati Aydın, founder of the 5D model, addressed the participants, emphasizing, "Human beings can do nothing without the Creator." He underlined the importance of perceiving God's knowledge through the light of the Quran, describing the 5D model as a means to reconnect with God and open our eyes to His wisdom. Aydın also stressed that education is not merely about the transfer of knowledge but also a process of personal transformation.

Participants' Reflections

International educators who attended the workshop described it as a transformative journey. Rhinda Mustafa from Egypt shared, "It has been a deeply transformative journey for me, urging us to shift our perspectives. It taught us to look beyond the visible. God willing, I will implement the 5D model by sharing what I learned here with my students and colleagues."

Shihara Afzal from the UK stated, "This program helped us realize the ways our children and students can connect with God. The 5D model marks just the beginning of our journey."

Roshilawati Razlan from Malaysia expressed the impact of the workshop on her by saying, "Even saying 'Allahu Akbar' feels different after this program. The question now is what the next step will be. Once you know, you can't claim ignorance anymore. This is not the end but the beginning of a long journey."

Discovering the True Healer: God

Ahmed Fakhri Hamza reflected on a powerful lesson he learned during the workshop. Having survived cancer, his doctor once told him, "This disease kept you alive," and he carried this belief for 17 years. However, Prof. Dr. Necati Aydın’s words, "It wasn't cancer that saved you; it was Allah," deeply resonated with him. Hamza remarked, "This realization showed me that true healing is not just physical but also a spiritual transformation."

At the end of the program, participants were presented with certificates and gifts. The event concluded with participants emphasizing that the 5D thinking model is a step toward transformation in the educational world and should be adopted by more educators globally.
